Did you recently hear about the Tate brothers’ arrests in Miami?
These two brothers are among the most recognizable social media personalities, known for their luxurious lifestyle, kickboxing background, fitness, and bold opinions. They are impressive speakers in many ways: full of masculinity, energy, and confidence. At times, however, they also speak with revenge, pride, and language that is not always appropriate. Was that the reason they were arrested? Not at all. You can search for the allegations yourself. It is not the purpose of this platform to determine whether they are guilty or innocent. The legal system exists to do that.
Titus: A Blueprint for the Church in Crete
The book of Titus is so exciting. If you are a church planter, or want to become one, you should do a good study of the book of Titus. Don’t skip the context of the book or all the little details about Crete and the Cretans. It becomes super exciting.
What makes the book even more exciting is its geographical location. Crete was strategically positioned as a major merchant trade island, connecting four major regions; Africa, Asia Minor, the Middle East, and Europe. That one detail changes how you read the entire letter.
This book is an invitation to journey with a faithful and beautiful God who cares deeply for His people, extends grace beyond merit, and remains unwaveringly faithful to His covenant.
After reading this book, you will understand that:
Grace is not initiated in revival; it finds God's people in the wilderness.
Despite resistance toward a holy God, He remains faithful to His covenant, preserving a remnant to fulfill His promises.
Grace is never based on human merit.
God longs for the renewal and restoration of His people.
A stubborn posture that refuses renewal may face the consequences of rebellion.
God is sovereign over all powers and dominions.
God stands with the faithful and grants them favor before all people.
What is Gospel?
Jesus was crucified for us all while we were still sinners, so that we would not be condemned, judged, or punished because of our sins. He redeemed us, justified us, and sanctified us. These are three wonderful gifts to humanity. They can't be earned. All we need to do is believe in the one true living God, Christ Jesus, the world's Saviour, and let the Holy Spirit transform us into His image.
