Noise Cancellation

Would it be good to say that growing up in our childhood, we had a natural feature of noise cancellation? We didn’t have to rely on too many sounds to do life. We didn’t have AirPods to keep us moving through every moment. We didn’t need all the media voices to give us dopamine hits just to get things done.

It’s so interesting how we are all being wired today and how we sometimes lean toward plugging our ears into something that can give us a little more life, a little more motivation, a little more direction, and a little more excitement. A little more fun noise. A little more dopamine. Something that helps us keep going and hit our goals.

It is traditional among track athletes who compete in short-distance sprints to plug in earphones, AirPods, or other devices to listen to hype music. This becomes part of their intense warm-up before competition. There is nothing wrong with plugging in during warm-ups. If you like it, you like it. But that is not how we ultimately hit the goal.

Success and achieving our goals are found in small, consistent habits.

Discipline over dopamine.

Often, people need music during gym workouts, and that is completely fine. However, the question I am trying to raise is:

Could we pause from all the noise of music, videos, podcasts, and media voices?

All of these things have value in the proper context. But they should not become our oxygen. If they have become our oxygen, we may need to pause.

We might need some NOISE CANCELLATION.

As humans, we function much better when we learn to control our noise. Master it before we become overwhelmed by it. It is simple: narrow your focus. Less noise. Less voices. Keep the main thing the main thing in the season of life you are in.

Our ability to make quality decisions can be weakened when we do not learn how to cancel the noise. When our minds are constantly filled with voices, distractions, and stimulation, we can lose the ability to recognize what truly matters.

The invitation is to live and thrive by inviting and relying on the

Peace of God.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 ESV

Even above the routines of discipline, habits, and personal growth, there is something far greater that we all need: The Peace of God.

Discipline can shape our actions, but the peace of God shapes our hearts, our minds, and the way we navigate life. The greatest foundation for success is not simply what we do, but the peace we carry while doing it.

This is how we must live and thrive, not through constant noise, endless stimulation, or another dopamine hit, but through the Peace of God.

The Peace of God is your key to success. When you have it, you will navigate life at your best. The quality of your decisions will become much stronger. This does not mean that chaos or challenges will disappear, but when you have the peace of God, you will thrive at your best, continue to grow, and lead others in the right direction.

Prayer: God of peace, I am open to reconciliation with You through the forgiveness of my mess caused by too much noise in my mind. Forgive me and restore me. Fill me with Your peace, and help me navigate life not through another dopamine hit, but through the peace of God that guards my mind. I will do my best because of Your peace that strengthens, guides, and guards my mind.

7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Phillipians 4:7 ESV
