Redemptive Power

Healing Power: The Kingdom Break-In (Luke 13: 10–17)

Theological Reflection: I love this passage where Jesus heals a woman who had been bent over for eighteen years. With just one touch, she was healed. Satan had bound her for eighteen years, but the moment she encountered Jesus, she was redeemed from the oppression of the enemy.

The religious leaders, the hypocritical synagogue group, interrupted to accuse Jesus of breaking the law by healing on the Sabbath. But Jesus masterfully responds: “Ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan has bound for eighteen years, be healed on the Sabbath day?” He exposes their hearts, and the people rejoiced at this glorious act of God. Praise Him!

The power of the Holy Spirit is not only for our personal spiritual transformation; we are also called to demonstrate the power of the Gospel through acts of healing and deliverance. This power flows through us as we fast, pray, and continue to abide in Him. Our purpose is to anticipate glorious things: healing the sick, casting out demons, and manifesting God’s kingdom in tangible ways. Let people see and glorify God through the works He accomplishes through His people. Amen!

The Gospel we proclaim is alive with power, signs, and wonders. As Reinhard Bonnke said,

“We are agents of Omnipotence. This means that unlimited power is at our fingertips.”
