The Pivot of Blessings

Have you ever had a bitter experience in life? Have you ever had negative emotions? Have you ever felt depressed because of difficult circumstances? Have you ever grieved because you lost someone dear to you? Well… that’s a lot of questions. But aren’t they real-life encounters? Maybe only a few people are immune from the brokenness and bitter experiences of life. Many people carry bitterness deep within their souls. Are you carrying any bitterness because of something that happened in your past?

Before we unpack the story today, let me shout this out:

God restores all things.

But one last question:

Are you open to His restoration?

The story of Ruth is quite popular. Many women love this story and often choose it for their women’s Bible studies. But the Book of Ruth is much more than a love story.

It is about Ruth and her faith in God.

It is about loss.

It is about Naomi and her bitterness.

It is about challenges.

It is about the pivot God brought into their story. And it is about restoration.

Ruth was certainly a woman who chose to follow God. Yet she also faced the tragedies of life. She lost her husband. She experienced the loss of her father-in-law, and the family lost her brother-in-law as well. She left her homeland, her culture, and everything familiar behind. She lost her financial security. She lost, she lost, and she lost. That’s enough to make anyone bitter. Fair? That’s life for many people.

But is loss the end?

Do we have an escape plan? Is there a way out? Who will help us and restore all things?

The answer is firm:

God will help and restore all things.

God did not leave Ruth in her pain. He worked through her loss and tragedy. He brought Boaz into her life, restored her future, gave her a new family, and filled her story with hope again. God restored her joy.

There is a pivot in your story. If you allow God to work, He will restore all things.

What if Ruth had not trusted God? I’m not sure what would have happened. But one thing is certain: when you experience bitterness, disappointment, or loss, allow God to restore you and make all things new. God does not abandon His people in tragedy. He is the God who brings hope, healing, restoration, and joy.

Simply put, accept God into your life. Ask Him to give you enduring grace to face your difficult seasons, and be ready for the next season of joyful restoration. With God, all things are possible. One word of caution: '

do not let stubbornness or a hardened heart rob you of the restoration and joy God wants to bring into your new season.

Accept God.

Follow God.

Ask God.

Pray to God.

And watch Him do something new in your life.

From bitterness to abundance of joy.

God is good.

Allow the Pivot.

Also note; Ruth experienced loss, but she did not allow loss to make her bitter. Instead, she trusted God.
