FAITHFUL BIBLICAL EXEGESIS

It should not surprise us that we live in an advanced time where everyone feels it is right to share their opinions and concerns. Some do it within a small group of people, family, or friends. Some are more courageous and go out on social media to voice their opinions. Some become a national voice to shape culture, defend culture, and defend what is right.

All humans have the freedom to speak and share their opinions, especially in our time as we live in the advanced age of growing social media.

I started my journey on social media through Orkut and then Facebook. It was exciting to do some social networking.

Social platforms help us all share opinions and perspectives. It can be very helpful.

At the same time, we can confess that we live in an Advanced Christian Age. We have a growing group of Christian content creators who post video reels every single week, sometimes three times a week.

We can call it a Digital Outreach Network.

Sermon Reels, Podcast Reels, Mission Reels, Interview Reels, Testimonial Reels. Wow!

The good news of God’s Kingdom is speeding up and going out like never before. This is impactful and meaningful.

Knowing that Christian social media influence is crucial, we also need to be sensitive about -

It is not about landing on the right or the left when we read the text. There are some key principles that we can apply so that we handle the text with faithfulness and sensitivity.

The voice of the text is not about our preferences, opinions, emotions, or our own strategic plans being infused into the text. We need to detach our emotions from the text and devote ourselves to the text.

This devotion should speak to our minds and renew our minds. The importance of original languages, literary context, historical context, original intent of the text, and other important elements such as Greek textual criticism in difficult texts is necessary so that we remain faithful to the text.

Having a foundation in Hermeneutics is also critical. Knowing some of the major ways to interpret the text:

• Literal

• Moral

• Allegorical

• Analogical

This learned approach toward the text will help us see the text with faithfulness, not forcing our deepest needs upon it, but being devoted to the Word so that the voice of God is heard and we are able to communicate the right message, leading the audience in the right direction.

In a world full of many voices, opinions, and perspectives, the voice of Scripture remains the most important voice.
