So Kudos to all the men who keep showing up for their families and communities. Men Matter. They’re built with strength, resilience, patience, and a capacity to carry responsibility and still keep going. So thank God for faithful fathers in every season, through tears and joy.

And even more, we should be thankful for spiritual fathers who care for the wider body of Christ. Some are pastoring thousands, others hundreds.

In this verse, “BUT” is a contrastive coordinating conjunction that introduce God’s intervention against the background of human sin and helplessness, and it also functions in an elliptical construction, where the implied action (such as “God acted” or “God intervened” is understood but not explicitly stated.

I love how Alvin Plantinga puts it:“If humans are products of unguided evolution, then our cognitive faculties aim at survival, not truth, so our trust in reason (including science) collapses.”

The first song I ever learned was You’re Beautiful by James Blunt. After that, I started learning some Christian music too. It was all so fun. We were addicted to music. Our playlist was huge, mostly bands. And I think we can all agree: Music Has Power.

I once did a crazy hike in Kananaskis in February with some friends. We made sure not to forget our microspikes and ice cleats. It was an awesome hike. But we did not see any lakes at the top because they were frozen. Yet those lakes were still there. They had not gone anywhere. And if you go again in the summer, you will see the same view over and over again. Why? Because God has spoken for that scenic view of the mountains and waters to stay there. They are not moving anywhere because God holds them together. God sustains it. 

The Greek word used here is νόμος (nomos), a governing principle or standard. Now, when Paul speaks of the “law of God,” there is an important interpretive question: is he referring to his earlier Jewish understanding of the law, or to his renewed understanding as a follower of Christ?

This is not a message of complaint, gossip, or slander that must be spread simply because someone feels troubled in the spirit. Being troubled in the spirit is not an attempt to win or conquer something. It is not a way to gain sympathy or an emotional backup plan for survival in life. It is not about being angry, unstable, impatient, or driven by uncontrolled emotions.

I find David to be very cinematic. He is not just a king or a shepherd boy, he carries another role: he presents his life like a storyteller. The way he expresses his experiences, emotions, and struggles feels vivid, almost like scenes from a movie. His words are powerful enough to feel like a script unfolding before us, almost like “David’s blockbuster.”

Hold fast to the authority of the 66 books and confront correctly and do table talks if someone doesn't believe the exclusive authority, apostolic, inspired 66 books. This is the exhortation from the elderly Apostle John.

In Matthew 21:10-11, we see Jesus being recognized by the people as the prophet from Nazareth. They had already witnessed His prophetic abilities, His divine teaching, His miracles, and His authority, but that was not enough for them to fully understand who He truly is. Jesus didn’t just possess the ability to teach or heal; He is divine, fully God, and must be exalted as the King of kings, Lord of lords, and the one true living God.

The lawyer had already secured his earthly life by being a lawyer. That is a respectable profession with good income. Being a successful lawyer can provide a very comfortable life. But earthly success does not answer the deeper spiritual questions of life.

Now this is good news: we don’t have a God who is driven by fire and brimstone - that’s a situational truth. The greater truth is that God is gracious, kind, loving, and full of mercy. He is a good God, a generous God, and a God who calls His people back.

Sometimes, Christians struggle to understand the New Testament in light of the Old Testament. Some think that in Christ we are now completely free from the Old Testament. That is not correct if we miss some key principles drawn from the Old Testament. Yes, we are free from ceremonial laws, worship, sacrifice, and purity regulations. We no longer perform burnt offerings (Leviticus 1), grain offerings (Leviticus 2), peace offerings (Leviticus 3), sin offerings (Leviticus 4), or guilt offerings (Leviticus 5-6), including atonement, restitution, or covenant signs like circumcision. However, moral law is upheld in Christ. What does that mean? It means all moral standards remain the same in the New Testament: we do not murder, commit adultery, steal, or lie.

Jesus Himself said not to neglect tithing while pursuing justice and mercy (Matt. 23:23), and Paul teaches that pastors and gospel ministers must be financially supported by the church: “In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:14 ESV).
